If you are considering junior golf coaching for your child, it is natural to wonder what actually happens during a session. Junior golf coaching is not only for beginners, many young golfers are already competing at a high level. Therefore, each student at DB Golf Center receives a personalized golf training plan designed according to their skill level, goals, and development needs.
Students experience not only golf training, but also physical and mental development sessions that help strengthen the body and mind. These elements are especially important for growing children, as they are in a stage of learning, exploring, and building confidence. Our junior development program focuses on improving golf skills, physical fitness, discipline, focus, and overall athletic performance in a structured and supportive environment.
How to get started?
We encourage new students to begin with a golf trial session before committing to a long-term program. The 2-session trial allows both the coaches and students to better understand each other and helps students adapt comfortably to the group environment. During these sessions, our coaches will assess the student’s golf swing, movement patterns, and physical fitness levels to design a suitable development plan.
Each trial session consists of 1 hour of golf swing training and 1 hour of golf-based physical fitness training. This combination helps students improve not only their golf techniques, but also their strength, mobility, coordination, and overall athletic ability.
Moving forward:
After the trial session, juniors enter regular classes based on the schedule and group allocation. Group placement is determined by age, skill level, areas for improvement, and the junior’s preferred schedule.
During indoor golf training sessions, group classes include engaging putting and chipping drills with friendly competitions. These activities help students learn golf in a fun and interactive way. Our coaches also design innovative games to keep juniors engaged while improving their swing in an enjoyable environment.
During golf-based physical fitness sessions, juniors are taken outdoors near the premises for training, depending on weather conditions. If outdoor training is not possible, sessions are conducted indoors in our gym. Fitness training is carried out in groups to improve focus, coordination, and overall body stamina.
Students are encouraged by coaches to participate in on-course sessions, including 9-hole and 18-hole rounds, as well as driving range practice, to gain real playing experience. Private sessions with coaches are also arranged based on coach recommendations. Priority for on-course training is given to tournament players and juniors preparing for competitions.
What Is the Suitable Age to Start Golf?
This is one of the most common questions asked by parents.
We coach juniors starting from 5 years old. For younger children (from 3 years old), we use specially designed introductory equipment called SNAG Golf, which is ideal for early learning through fun target-based games.
This approach helps kids develop basic coordination, motor skills, and interest in the game in a fun and safe way. From around 5 years old, they can begin proper golf training, where they start to understand techniques and the purpose behind each movement.
There is actually no ideal age to start golf children and even adults can begin their golfing journey as beginners. What matters most is interest, consistency, and commitment.
At DB Golf Center, we have juniors ranging from complete beginners to advanced players who have achieved multiple tournament wins.
Our coaches are fully dedicated to designing structured Junior golf training plans and engaging activities that keep children motivated and excited to learn, even during physically demanding sessions. Training in group settings also helps juniors build strong sportsmanship and develop a healthy sense of competition among their peers.
We value open communication with both parents and students, and our coaches are always receptive to feedback. This allows us to continuously refine and improve each child’s training journey for better development and results.
